Such a cute little place! The service is always wonderful, and the place is always nice and clean. It may not bea typical sushi restaurant in its decor, but it's a nice place to have casual lunch or dinner. The rolls are a really good deal, they are a little smaller than what I am used to(which is why there are four stars) but still yummy and well priced. I don't there there are any rolls over $10. I haven't tried the entrees, but I heard that they are good. If you go, try ANY of the spicy rolls, yum!

If you're a serious sushi fan you'll love this place. Start off with the hot saki then go down the menu with what ever suits your fancy. Even the ginger is super succulent and so fresh you'll eat it for desert. Definitely try the dynamite roll. My only complaint is that the place is so tight with tables that a quiet conversation is almost impossible.

Excellent bento boxes and if you go before 3:30 they are just $7. Great salad and sushi. Service is great. Amazing for such a little place.

Really good sushi! The portion size was perfect for me. Note for Vegetarians and vegans: be sure your server knows that you don't eat fish. The fried tofu has fish flakes on it, and the sweet potato roll has a fish sauce. The staff was friendly though and kindly accommodated me.

Friday and Saturday nights seem to be the busy time. Each time I come in I am pretty much alone. Trust me, you want to try their sushi. Rolls aren't huge but they are reasonably priced. Fresh fish, nice employees, and a decent location. You should take a chance on this one.

I just left here. The service was awful. As soon as we walked in we did not get greeted by the hostess that was standing right in front of us talking to a customer or friend who was eating there. I could not tell really because they were talking the WHOLE ENTIRE time. Very loudly I might add. Very uncomfortable especially being the only other people in the restaurant. We heard their entire conversation. It was awkward. The hostess came up to us only a few times. To take our order, to fill up our waters (which she splashed on me, and only filled them up after I flashed her a look and she noticed our waters were completely empty) and to bring us our food. The sushi was tiny. And every roll we had , had pinko breading in as a huge filler in half the roll. I'm sorry but not really. I will never go back here again.

FRESH, FRESH fish. Delicious, new favorite. The red snapper sashimi is wonderful. We've eaten at every sushi place around and Sakura has the best fish we've found. Texture and flavor are incredible. The rolls are smaller, but only because they are rolled tight and not overwhelmed with rice. I prefer this. Makes eating easier. Each bite is packed with flavor. Husband loved their hit sake too! Craving it ever since we went. Make sure you go!

Sakura is a small little sushi restaurant with a decent menu. My wife and I decided to give it a try as we are still trying to find a great sushi place by us. Sakura has a single sushi chef and if you come in with groups then there might be a wait to get your sushi. The veggie tempura appetizer was small (6 pieces) and only had 3 types of veggies, but they were fresh and the tempura was light which was good. We ordered the sushi and sashimi for two (which comes in a boat). The rolls are small and do not have a proper inner to rice ratio (more inner and not enough rice) opposite of most sushi places. Flavors of the rolls were decent, but giving fake crab as sashimi is just wrong (since it is cooked and not really crab) on a chef choice dish. Portions are on the small size for the fish and rolls you get, but the fish tasted good except for the mackerel which did not taste fresh (had a bad cut to it). Spicy tuna roll had too much tempura crunch in it, but was proper size. The dragon roll that we got was rolled as a small roll when it should have been regular roll size (not the same size as a spicy tuna roll). Overall a 2.5 place as the sushi was between 2 and 3, but I do like this place better than other places in the Ogden area. I would just go and order rolls by themselves instead of in groupings on the menu. Sakura needs to make proper rolls instead of making small rolls for everything, including specialty rolls.

I love getting take out sushi from here. They're open late and prices are affordable. The sushi is great. The Kill Bill and The Vegas rolls are my favorite.

Horrible Food!! I just got lunch here for my husband and I. I ordered it ahead of time to pick it up and take take it home so I wouldn't have to wait. I called at 12 (they said 20 minutes) I got there at 12:27 and had to wait another 5 or so minutes. Got it home and chicken teriyaki had barely any chicken in it and had a horrid taste. I got sushi. The New York roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. The New York had old eel on it and the shrimp tempura in each roll tasted like it had been cooked days ago. Nothing was warm. They both had an odd taste. I really wanted to like this place since it is so close to home but I will never go back. The salad was the same temp as the sushi. It was like it had all be sitting out for a long time but yet it wasn't done being prepared when I arrived.

Why do I let my friends keep dragging me to trendy sushi restaurants downtown and on 25th Street? After mediocre experiences elsewhere, I went here for lunch again last week. Fresh, yummy sushi. An entire roll, 3 nigiri, and a bowl of miso for under $7. Much fresher and tastier than other over-hyped sushi joints. I LOVE Sakura. Not the biggest, not the prettiest. Simply put, just the best.

Both the sushi and the entrees were great. The food is affordable and the staff was friendly. We will be back.

Good food. SLOWWWWWW service. Second time here and have been waiting an hr for four rolls. Easy to say there won't be a third visit. Disappointing as this place has potential.

The rolls are smaller than what you are paying for. This place has fresh sushi. Flavors are decent. If I have a huge sushi craving and don't want to go out of the way to my favorite places, I would go here.

In trying to get caught up with some of the lists, I find I forgot this place, not that it frankly deserves to be particularly remembered or is especially memorable. In hindsight, I shouldn't have, though, for it is this place that has started me on the trend of looking through sushi menus, not to see what creations are there, but rather to look at pricing, not because I care how much anything is, but rather to try to gather a measure of what I'm in for. Pricing here is about in line with the 50% off places. Probably you need not know any more at that point. In case you do, what you can expect here is dated fish (it tastes old and this was across every roll I had), shrimp that has not been de-veined (this is the first time I've ever seen this in a place offering tempura and I hope it's the last), smallish rolls, lots of sauces on the rolls and a decided lack of flavor. This is, quality-wise, on exactly the same level as any place with a banner on their building or sign in their window proudly (?) proclaiming their menu items are half-priced. Green tea was the high point and that was done well, mostly because they didn't get fancy with it. A solid green tea, no embellishments, in a pot and an empty cup. It's not that hard, but most places seem to inexplicably want to overcomplicate it. From there, though, it was downhill. Tempura dipping sauce was decent. Tempura was...not something I would ever order again. Ginger was pink. Soy sauce was also pretty solid, though a touch more on the salty side than I generally like. As to the rolls, the fried one we got was one of the better ones. Other than that, they were all universally either awful or very average. The more complex ones were among the worst of anything we got, but the simple ones, such as the shrimp tempura (ordered before I realized the de-veining issue) and the spicy yellowtail, weren't too wonderful, either. This is just barely 3 stars and because the décor, ambiance (though it was a bit snug at the tables), green tea and other factors sort of nudged this up. Without those, this is a 2.5, max. Speed was also ok and the wait staff was friendly. This is the kind of place you go when you need a sushi fix and don't want to spend a lot of money, but not for flavor and especially not for quality, so, again on par with the 50% off places...

Their lunch specials are a great deal, but their dinners are still inexpensive. Good salad with ginger dressing, basic California roll and miso soup, steak and chicken teriyaki were cooked perfectly, and yummy vegetable tempura with white rice. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks full. Friendly sushi bar employee who greeted us and said we could choose our table. There were two TVs on. Several other tables occupied on a Friday night.

This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in Ogden. It's not the flashiest, but the quality is on par with any of the other sushi restaurants in town. Oh yeah, the prices are THE BEST in town.

I'm really picky about my sushi rolls but this is one of the only places to get them the way I like them. I'm a HUGE fan of their Mido soup. I stopped getting it from other places and have committed myself to Sakura's Miso. One of my favorite place to eat in South Ogden. The staff is so friendly and they even do takeout!!!! I love this place!

Freshest fish in Utah. You would never think this state was landlocked. I've eaten at a lot of great places in SLC but the fish was never quite as fresh as this tiny little restaurant. If you like sushi, I highly suggest this hidden gem. The only downfall is when it's a busy saturday night, you may have to wait a while. But I still give this place 5 stars. They deserve it!

Came here because of the few good reviews.... Very disappointed! We were the only costumers and it felt like FOREVER getting anything done. Smallest rolls I have ever had! There was no way i could afford to get full in this joint. They charge 11$ for a roll the size of a 4$ roll. AND my biggest pet peeve.... Warm beer! The taste and freshness however was just the same as all the rest in the area.

I took my friend from Africa here because he said he never had sushi before. I thought it would open his eyes to the wonders of America but I don't think he was all that impressed. I think they have rice and fish where he is from, although I wanted to ask him if he'd ever eaten a hippo. I don't have anything bad to say about this place though. I've been twice and the fish always tasted as fresh as you can get in Utah. The menu was huge which I like. Choices are always good.
